Friday, I was officially offered a new job at First Baptist Academy! I will start there on Feb. 11th as their new Director of Development. I'm so excited!
I learned in Nov. that HCHS would not be renewing my contract and I was really worried about being able to find the right job. Now, I knew I could find a job. No problem. But if I stayed in fundraising I really wanted to work in a school, for so many reasons!
There are so many great things about my new job but one is that the girls with get to go with me to work everyday. The school is infants through 8th grade. So Macey will start in the toddler class and Lena in the PK3 class. Lena has to wear a uniform too! I can't wait to see her in it! Plus I get a discount on their tuition which really helps.
Lena has been attending a Childtime daycare for over a year and we have loved it there. Her current teacher in the 3 year old class is Miss Veda and they have really bonded and love each other. Needless to say, Veda was very sad that Lena was leaving.
Yesterday when I picked her up, the class had made her a sweet card that said "We will miss you Lena!" and they had taken a class photo for Lena to keep to remember her friends. Cute!:
As happy as I am for the change and the opportunity, I was very emotional when I picked Lena up. Veda and I both started crying and we made Lena cry. It's a special thing to find a school you love and a teacher you love and trust. We will miss the staff there alot and I have vowed to stay in touch and visit.
